A Welcome From Andy
Thank you for popping in to visit me in my humble home. It’s great to have you as a houseguest.
This website has been developed over 31 years. That’s the time I have been involved in the mad, crazy, wonderful world of direct marketing.
I have loved every minute of it. And continue to do so. I am a passionate upholder of great copy and effective creative for direct and digital marketing.
I will continue carrying this flag - and take great pleasure in identifying and shaming the charlatans that seem to populate this unique business in greater numbers each year. According to the British Government, I am now officially an ‘old ligger’.
They have rewarded me for this honour, by paying me money each month. I am very grateful to them for this - and also a little surprised I have made it this far.
But, I digress.
My personal journey has taken me from a marketing role at RCA Records (being there when Presley died was a hell of an experience) to opening my first agency - Direction Marketing. That soon grew into The Direct Marketing Organisation.
Just over 15 years ago, I morphed that into Andy Owen & Associates.
Now, because of my official ‘coming of age’, I have decided to make what I think will be my final piece of corporate cosmetics. I simply don’t want to run an agency anymore. I have done my time.
It’s nowhere near as much fun as it once was.
I now want to spend my days, writing great copy and originating effective creative concepts and designs for anyone who wants to hire me.
So, as Andy Owen & Associates gently rides off into the sunset, I have pleasure in introducing Andy Owen, Copy & Creative - a much more personal offering for all of you out there.
